Many classical Karst caves are described in detail through maps and photographs in a very useful guide ‘’Cave Guide to Slovenia" by Jan Bishop.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Speleocamp was founded in 1990 with the help of the local caving club. The camp is situated on the classical Karst area where the number of caves per square kilometre is the highest in the world.

The meaning of the word Karst, which originates from this part of Europe, can be fully comprehended only by experiencing the Karst phenomenon in all its diversity; the Karst sinkholes, vertical pitches, horizontal caves with huge underground chambers and passages, underground rivers and lakes...

Speleocamp is especially equipped for the needs of its visitors - speleologists.

A log cabin, which was built to meet the needs of cave explorers, provides a room for socializing as well as a storage room for equipment.

On sunny spring or summer days a terrace with grill is an ideal place to have picnics.

Bathroom facilities with hot water showers and a special room for cleaning and drying of equipment is also available.
